Baskets and Barrows Festival

St Giles Church, Desborough

The idea for this festival sprang from an old Desborough tradition of decorating a basket with spring flowers and a doll and taking it from door to door to collect pennies. Older members of the town remember the days when you could do this, nowadays the fundraising is done for the church. Wheelbarrows have been added to the displays which are decorated in any way. These are on display in the Church with other activities taking place in the car park and Community Centre.
