Set on the historic market-place, Rothwell Methodist Church is ideally situated at the heart of the town for witness and outreach. A lively congregation of 50 members enjoy working together in a joyful, positive, and caring way. Many of the members are in employment. There is a good team of folk who enjoy and are gifted in craft and art.

Rothwell has remained open throughout the lockdowns providing valued prayer space and regular worship opportunity. There is a dedicate team of pastoral leaders.

The congregation enjoys a wide variety of Sunday Worship styles. Café and All-age are favourites. Worship continues through a Youth Group, regular Messy Church and creative art/craft family events, and a mid-week fellowship. A monthly Diner Church brings families together. The church has drama group, knit n' natter, and a ladies fellowship. Saturday bacon butty and coffee mornings are timed to coincide with the monthly local market. The church arranges film nights, and many other times of fun and fellowship.

Rothwell town has a fabulous array of restaurants. Slimmer's World offers a well-attended antidote in the church. Brownies also meet here. The premises are used by the town council for monthly public meetings.

We take an active part in the Churches Together Group and have a presence at the many town events.

The congregation have wanted 'to get ahead of the game' and have met several times to develop ideas for post-lockdown outreach. We are seeking to work ecumenically in witness amongst new housing estates.
