Small groups for fellowship and Bible study are so very important for the Christian life and growth of our churches. The circuit is now producing fortnightly material to resource small groups, and make things a little bit easier for group leaders. The purpose is also to encourage new groups to start up and grow, knowing that they will have some user-friendly material to use. Good Soil is something that has been going for a while in the Market Harborough area, and we are now opening it up to the whole circuit, with a variety of contributors to help our thinking. You can learn all about Good Soil and see some other resources (and previous editions) on our website:
https://www.eastmercia-methodists.org.uk/churches/market-harborough/good-soil.html
The current issue of Good Soil is for groups to use over the next couple of weeks, and will be followed up with new material on a fortnightly basis. Please feel free to print as many copies of this as you wish for your church and groups, and do encourage group leaders to read the explanatory material on the website – including 'The Essential Guide'. We will be happy to come to talk to churches in the new year to talk about how you might use it in your church, but there's nothing to stop you starting now! (Please do get in touch with Rev Andy Murphy if you have any questions – at geordie_smurf@hotmail.com ). If you are printing it out and making it available, please also publicise it in your notices. It can also be used at home as devotional material for individuals or families. We hope it is a blessing to all who use it, and helps us to provide good soil for God's word to grow in us, and us in God.
